VACANCY- GARBAGE TRUCK DRIVER

Solomon Islands Ports Authority invites applications from interested and suitable applicants with relevant experience for the position of Garbage Truck Driver which needs to be filled immediately in the Property Department.

Purpose of the Position

The driver will be responsible to operate specialised Garbage vehicle to collect and transporting waste and
disposing them at designated dump sites.

Roles / Responsibilities

•To operate garbage truck to collect garbage through SIPA residential, domestic terminal and surrounding SIPA premises.
•Collect and Load garbage and recyclables from bins and containers and ensure that they are properly disposed.
•Strictly adhere to traffic regulations and waste management and handling regulations.
•Perform routine inspection and maintenance on the garbage truck.
•Ability to provide courteous and professional interaction with SIPA staff residence, customers, tenants, and their customers.
•Coordinate with Senior Property Officer to ensure efficient waste collection and disposal.

Qualification / experience

•Valid driving license with clean police record
•Proven Experience in driving large vehicles, preferably garbage trucks or similar.
•Must be physically fit to lift and carry heavy objects.
•Ability to work on your own with minimal Supervision
•Able to interact with team members and public
