The First Twin Pick Kalmar Empty Handler

The Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) is excited to announce the first twin pick kalmar empty handler in the country. This machinery means speed and efficiency for SIPA operations.

The handler could manage two empty containers with one lift. It could also stack containers up to 7 containers high which could potentially increase ports storage capacity.

The Kalmar Handler was installed successfully over the last week by a certified Kalmar Installer from our neighbouring Papua New Guinea - Mr Jason Manga with assistance provided by SIPA's engineering department.

This is a milestone for SIPA and another step forward for the country's development.
